zionsville hs percussion - 2024

In the summer of 2015, I began a journey that would alter the course of my life forever; spending three months traveling across the United States, creating content for a world-class drum and bugle corps. From my first camp with Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps in November of 2014, to winning a bronze medal at WGI Winds World Championships in 2021, to the present day working for FloMarching, I have held many different roles within half a dozen ensembles, all with the goal of capturing unique moments both on and off the field.

Currently, I work full-time as the Lead Content Lead for FloMarching, part of the FloSports offering. My workday looks different every day, but my responsibilities range from photo and video shooting and editing to graphic design, social media management to research and writing, and much more. During the fall marching band season, I also work in a freelance capacity with the Syracuse University Marching Band as one of the photographers for the program.

DCI, commonly referred to as Marching Music’s Major League, is the governing body under which dozens of independently run marching ensembles compete against each other throughout the summer months. At its heart, DCI aims to enhance the lives of young musicians and performers through education, teamwork, and a lot of hard work.

WGI, or Winter Guard International, is the world’s premier organization producing indoor color guard, percussion, and winds competitions. As a non-profit youth organization, WGI also serves as the governing body for the indoor color guard, percussion, and winds activities. It is called the Sport of the Arts because it brings music to life through performance in a competitive format. Even with over 45 years of history, the sport continues to evolve and grow.
