SUMB 2019

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged, but I’m super excited that my first post back is super exciting news: I’m officially back for my second year of working as a photographer for the Syracuse University Pride of the Orange Marching Band! It’s an incredibly humbling experience to be back on campus working for my Alma Mater in this capacity. As we all know, marching band and drum corps holds such a sacred place in my heart, and it’s truly a wonderful feeling giving back to my University and the members of the SUMB.

Not only was the first home game of the season against Clemson (who, the last time they ventured to the Dome, ‘Cuse stunned them in an upset heard ‘round the world), but it was also Homecoming! The atmosphere was absolutely electric during the Quad show and inside the stadium.

Though the ‘Cuse didn’t end up a W at the end of the day, I captured some really amazing moments that I’m happy to share with you!

If you’d like to see the full photoset from the day, be sure to head over to my Pixieset page! You can also follow me on Instagram (@weeznet and @natalie.svg) for more of my work.

Thanks for reading! Cheers!

Graduation Portraits | A. Wortz

This past week, I had the great pleasure of taking graduation portraits of one of my favorite people - A. Wortz. This incredibly talented and creative woman finally completed her degree from Syracuse University, and these are some of the moments I was able to capture with her and her partner Erin. Both A. and Erin are two of my closest friends which made for an incredibly entertaining shoot.

The Ledford Wedding

This past October, I had the amazing privilege of photographing the wedding of one of my oldest friends - Morgan. Morgan and I first became friends in high school when we attended the same music camp, and continued our long-distance friendship over the years since. Morgan had always joked with me about wanting to hire me as her wedding photographer, and when she got engaged at the beginning of the year, she popped the question to me and, of course, I accepted.

Morgan and her (now) husband Matt were incredibly gracious hosts for the weekend making sure I was comfortable and had whatever I needed to be successful for the big day. I was a bit nervous as it was my first time photographing a wedding, but I'm so incredibly pleased with how well the photos turned out. Below are a couple of my favorites from Morgan's big day.

Working with Natalie was one of the easiest parts of our wedding with a result that far surpassed our expectations. Her dedication to making our day special, and documenting it to our desires was nothing less of fantastic. Natalie left no detail unmasked as filters to poses were discussed with ease, and released some of the many wedding nerves we had. Candid or posed, each photo we received from Natalie is something we and our families will cherish for years.

I'm so incredibly thankful for this opportunity to spend the day with Morgan and Matt. Thank you to them, their families, and their wedding party for making me feel welcome every moment of the weekend. If you'd like to view the whole photoset, click here. Enjoy!

NY State Field Band Championships // Oct. 29th

It's been a hot minute since I've photographed a marching ensemble that wasn't drum corps. While I love DCI, I am always amazed by the talents of high school students performing on a large stage, which is why I was so excited to be asked to photograph the Jordan-Elbridge Marching Eagles this past Sunday inside the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University.

Below is a couple of my favorite shots featuring J.E. I wish I had been able to stay for the world-class bands, but let's be real... I needed some sleep after a long weekend.
