SUMB 2019

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged, but I’m super excited that my first post back is super exciting news: I’m officially back for my second year of working as a photographer for the Syracuse University Pride of the Orange Marching Band! It’s an incredibly humbling experience to be back on campus working for my Alma Mater in this capacity. As we all know, marching band and drum corps holds such a sacred place in my heart, and it’s truly a wonderful feeling giving back to my University and the members of the SUMB.

Not only was the first home game of the season against Clemson (who, the last time they ventured to the Dome, ‘Cuse stunned them in an upset heard ‘round the world), but it was also Homecoming! The atmosphere was absolutely electric during the Quad show and inside the stadium.

Though the ‘Cuse didn’t end up a W at the end of the day, I captured some really amazing moments that I’m happy to share with you!

DCI Southeastern Championships - Carolina Crown

It's time for another photo set from the DCI Southeastern Championships in Atlanta, Georgia that took place on July 28th. Now it's time to showcase the home team!

Carolina Crown

I absolutely adore Crown's show this year. It's such an incredibly emotional rollercoaster from start to finish keeping the audience engaged throughout. The costuming is absolutely wonderful for both the guard and the corps. The fabric and accessories almost take on a life of their own, adding dashes of color, sparkle, and light movement with even the slightest of motion.

If you'd like to see the full album of photos, visit my Pixieset page. And be sure to keep checking back in every few days for more photosets from this weekend and others!

DCI Southeastern Championships - Boston Crusaders

This is the first post in a series of blog posts showcasing the photos I captured while at DCI Southeastern Championships in Atlanta, Georgia on July 28th. First up:

Boston Crusaders

This was my first time seeing Boston's 2018 program titled SOS, and it did not disappoint. The emotions exhibited by the performers were incredible to experience, and the ending of the show was visually stunning. The contrast between the blue sheet used to imitate the ocean against the burnt orange of the colorguard uniforms really made the images even more stunning.

Special shoutout to Connor Rydland and Julia Cardillo for giving me permission to photograph the corps! If you'd like to see the full album of photos, visit my Pixieset page. And be sure to keep checking back in every few days for more photosets from the weekend!

Carolina Crown | Preview Show Weekend

The lead-up to our preview show weekend is always incredibly exciting because that means it's time to hit the road on our summer tour. This year, I had the privilege of making it down to Rock Hill to be part of the excitement surrounding our send-off show.

I had a blast seeing the show for the first time live, and can say that Beast may be one of my favorite shows that has been fielded in recent years. The uniforms are also to die for - they make any singular moment full of color and movement which, in turn, makes my job of capturing compelling moments so much easier.

Skincare Products I've Been Loving

(I'm trying out something new with this blog - let me know if you like this kind of content!)

Ever since I have turned 25, I've started to invest a lot of time (and money) into a full-on skin care routine. Testing products has always been something I've loved doing, and I'm so happy to have received the Chic Vox Box from Influenster to help kick-start my newly-formed skincare routine.

I have incredibly sensitive skin, so finding products that treat my acne-prone skin is often very difficult. But with the help of Philosophy, Korres, Origins, and EOS, I feel more confident in my bare skin than I ever have!

Products:

Philosophy 'Clear Days Ahead' Set

Philosophy 'Turbo Booster C Power' High-Potency Powder

Origins 'Clear Improvement' Charcoal Mask

Korres 'Pomegranate Resurfacing Mask'

EOS 'Sensitive Skin Shave Cream'

Obviously everyone's skin is different, but I've found these products along with a toner have REALLY improved the clarity, brightness, evenness, and smoothness of my skin after about a month. As for the shave cream, this is straight up the only shaving cream I've ever used that doesn't break me out or cause bumps all over my skin. It completely blows my mind!
